UPDATE: 8/8/2013 Due to a major landowner’s decision not to participate, the Ortonville Business Park will not be moving forward with their site certification at this time. We will look to begin the process to certify again in January.
UPDATE: 6/21/2013 The Alliance has received notice that the Ortonville Business Park has been selected to move on to step two of the site certification process. We look forward to working with the City of Adel in determining next steps and moving forward with certification.
The Alliance recently submitted the Ortonville Business Park in Adel for the Certified Sites Program through the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The site was submitted as a large site (250 acres), and our team will know soon if the site has been approved to continue on to step two of the Certified Sites process. Once we have been approved, the Alliance will be working closely with the City of Adel to determine next steps in pursuing this certification.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority uses these certified sites to market economic growth in Iowa. The approved sites are marketed to site selectors, in order to stay competitive in the market nationally. This helps to present to site selectors what Iowa has to offer and show the opportunities found in the state. Certified sites reduce the risk of the unknown for site selectors, and help the overall development process.
